Transform Your Kitchen Space

Hello, my name is Katy and this blog is dedicated to how you can improve the interior of your home. Last year, I renovated my kitchen and it completely changed my life. Although I am really happy with the results, I didn't expect it to be so challenging. I kind of jumped in at the deep end, ripped my old kitchen out and then realised I had no idea how to install a new one or even what design I would like to choose. Thankfully, my friend who is a bit of an expert at these things guided me through the entire process and I learnt a lot of useful things. Since then, I have started to rennovate the rest of my home and garden.

4 Tips on Making the Most of Carpet Floors

Exquisite carpet floors are not only aesthetically appealing, but they are also an investment due to how expensive they are. This is why it is especially important to take all the measures you can to lengthen the lifespan of these carpets. Here are some of the tips on making the most of carpet floors—and ultimately keep the floors pristine and your home enticing.

1. Do not be a miser when it comes to padding.

When most people consider padding, they assume it is simply to make the carpets even more comfortable to walk and sit on. However, padding is also essential in aiding your carpets bear all the abuse they experience while they are in use. When purchasing new carpeting, ensure that you also buy new padding rather than try to be a miser by reusing your old padding. Also, ensure the padding fits the entire carpet or you will find the edges falling victim to uneven wear and tear sooner than the rest of the carpet.

2. Invest in a quality vacuum cleaner.

A mistake most homeowners make is taking for granted the vacuum cleaner that they use in their home. Contrary to popular belief, they do not all proffer the same quality of cleaning. The best vacuum cleaners will have the ability to suck out all the miniscule dirt and grit trapped in the fibers of the carpet without damaging them. This helps in the prevention of wearing out of your carpet due to piling up of debris.

3. Utilise carpet runners.

Carpet runners are not simply in place for aesthetic appeal. Carpet suppliers advise on having these placed on areas that experience a lot of foot traffic. They not only collect any grime that is being tracked into your home, but they also lessen the impact of the constant foot traffic. Most carpet suppliers such as Carpet Care Services Pty Ltd will carry them so that you can add a touch of class to your decor.

4. Opt for professional cleaning services.

Professional carpet cleaning services should not only be considered exclusive to business premises. The truth is that your carpets stand to benefit from a professional cleaning once in a while. These specialists not only ensure the thorough cleaning of your carpets but they also make them radiant through conditioning, which makes the colors of the fibers rich and vibrant. If you are on a budget, you could opt for a professional clean at least once a year.
